Welcome
It is my pleasure for me to present this inaugural symposium of Clinica Guerrero Marbella. It constitutes a very exciting project both for me and my team, that we would like to share with you all. In it, we celebrate that we have moved our office from Malaga to Marbella, in order to continue with our professional career as a specialist center limited to Periodontology and Dental Implant Therapy.
In this scientific opening event we will discuss two very relevant aspects of everyday clinical practice: the aesthetics aspects of peri-implant soft tissues and the management of the periodontitis susceptible patient.
The morning session will be delivered in English for all international colleagues. We will discuss the factors that influence the aesthetics of the peri-implant soft tissue and the clinical strategies that will help us achieve a predictable final result. Additionally, we will describe how to treat soft tissue aesthetic complications, in case they happen. Furthermore, the biology of wound healing on immediate implants will be presented and clinical recommendations will be given on how this therapeutic option can be used in order to achieve good clinical outcomes.
The afternoon session will be delivered in Spanish, however all the international dentists are more than welcome as well. An historic, scientific and clinical journey on the benefits of periodontal treatment of and implant therapy in the periodontal susceptible patient will be presented by national and some international renowned periodontists. Dr. Daniel Rodrigo will provide us with the scientific evidence that will help us determine what to do with a tooth with questionable prognosis: may we try to keep it or shall we extract it and replace it with an implant ?. Subsequently, Prof. Herrera, from the Complutense University of Madrid and current president of the Spanish Society of Periodontology, will update us as on how conventional periodontal treatment is done at present, to later discuss on how periodontal regeneration can further improve clinical results. In addition, Drs. , Liñares, Santamaria and Bujaldón, will go deep into Implant therapy, from how to deal with cases with reduced bone availability, to how to make the implant-supported prosthesis in periodontal patients, up to the prevention and treatment of peri-implant diseases: a very frequent finding in the periodontitis-susceptible patient.
Clinica Guerrero bets on the oral health of our patients and on the evidence-based clinical practice, but also on common sense. It will be a pleasure to share it with you.
